Nora and Ferin have always been friends, but now they are inseparable. Nora acts like she is not angry, but when she came into the dining hall all the table decorations exploded into a puff of smoke. I don’t think she meant to do that, but she didn’t apologize, either.
Ferin seems fine. The cut wasn’t bad, so she’s not restricted in any way. Deilia, when she’s around (she spent most of today in the caves), is protective of them, which is unusual. I guess we’re all looking out for them more than average, though I’m not sure why. No one knows where the branch that hit Ferin yesterday came from. It could have been a fluke of nature, but no one believes that.
A few of the older girls asked us for our skunk neutralizing solution from last summer. I hope we don’t get involved in that again. While we got very good at cleaning the cabin, I’d rather not have to.
Those of us in our cabin shared ideas about how to lighten the camp mood. Steer it away from taking sides on stupid topics and towards having more fun. Usually by now, there’s been at least one ice cream social, but I could have missed it being in the caves all day.
We’re thinking of setting up a popcorn social with tomorrow night’s campfire. There’s practice for the story tellers, and the lure of popcorn might bring them more of an audience.
