We spent the morning at the lake. I spent most of the time in the water looking for balls, oars and other equipment that ended up in the drink. Miche didn’t want to leave the lake with any non-lake kind of stuff in it. She had a spell to make stuff that didn’t belong glow so it was easier to see. But someone still had to go out to get it. It was more fun than it sounds. We had races to see who could find the most, the smallest, and the most valuable.
Sandy found the most valuable item. It was a ruby that was covered in rubber, wrapped in silk, locked in a box. Don’t know how such a thing got into the lake. Miche thought Miss Porter would probably know more about it.
After lunch I went back to visit my tree in the singing grove. We hadn’t gotten much time to visit yesterday with all the cleanup and stuff. She wished me well and said that all the trees in the grove were well cared for. She taught me a song to sing to the trees when I get home. They probably won’t talk to me, she said, but some might sing along.
