Alex took us out to the road this morning to watch the sunrise. The sky was filled with red and orange. That meant a storm might be coming our way.
We made it to the dining hall before the rain hit. It was just a rinsing rain, done before we finished breakfast.
There weren’t any awards for cabin decorating this week. Instead, anyone who had decorated got an honorable mention. Our decorations were the same as last week, but it still qualified.
We have to start taking the decorations down tomorrow. They have to be all gone by Sunday morning breakfast. That won’t be much trouble for us. Some other cabins have more elaborate stuff to take down.
We do have a lot of origami birds, though. We decided to give them to other campers as farewell gifts.
The lake is officially closed. The hurdles course is still open, but I had no interest in that. Instead, I picked and pruned in the flower garden.
Camp closings are so sad...will their be a mid-year reunion? My Dad and I
always went to the Daughter/Dad dance in early Spring when Dads were asked to volunteer tp ready camp the next season. Dad made friends with this tribe as well.
They fixed stuff like broken screens, pull out the equipment and ran it through a tune-up.
The built new docks, etc. You get the idea.... he seemed happy to have participated.
